The following are technology and device rules to be followed when in Mrs. Williams' room:
- Cell-phones are to remain put away during class unless permission is given.
- When using the iPads in class, use only the apps needed for participation in the activity (i.e: not playing games during lessons and activities).
- Handle your iPads with care. Even though they have cases, be careful not to drop them or be too rough with them (This also includes not having open-lid drinks on your desk with your iPad. Water bottles with closable lids/caps are acceptable.)
- Do not delete or download extra apps without teacher permission.
- Do not change initial iPad settings without special permission.
- If a site you are trying to access has been blocked by the filter, ask for teacher help and permission first before trying to pass the filter. (Some sites such as Youtube, GoogleDrive, etc. are caught by the filter, but are acceptable for classroom use.)
- Follow all AHS guidelines and policies for acceptable use as laid out in your handbook.
The iPads are a new useful tool we have the ability to use in class. Any lessons or activities utilizing the iPads are important for you to participate in, and it's important that you use your iPad wisely. However, off-task behaviors may result in temporary freezing of your iPad screen for part of the class, and continued misuse or off-task behaviors will result in detention or an office referral.
